I served in the Army.

Anton Ellis Tuomi the son of Anton Everett Tuomi and Dorothea Ward was born July 9, 1946 in Grand Prairie, Texas and departed this life on May 30, 2019 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 21 days.

Ellis was always a gentleman and a soldier. He enlisted into the U.S. Army in March 1966 and he was proud to serve his country. He served in the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He was a paratrooper and served a year in Vietnam, he also spent some time in Germany and Spain before being stationed in Fort Polk as a Drill Sergeant. He was proud of his service and was always a soldier. After his service he became an electrician and worked for the IBEW Local 11. He married Barbara Goodwin on June 17, 1979. Ellis was always positive and everyone loved him. He tried to make everyone laugh, and he always had a joke to tell. Ellis loved to travel and history. He always had a hug for the ladies and was always a gentleman. He had respect for his elders, and he expected respect in return. He was a patriotic man who was proud to be an American. Ellis will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Clay VanWinkle.

He is survived by a loving family which includes his wife of nearly 40 years Barbara Tuomi; his children Dana Ellis Tuomi of Florida, Eric Anton Tuomi of Florida, Rebecca Ann Franks of Dallas, Robert Wayne Franks and wife Vickie of Mabank, TX, and James Thomas Franks and wife Pamela of Florida; his brother David VanWinkle of Santa Rosa, CA; his grandchildren Taylor, Terri, Traci, Shanda and Michael; and his great-grandchildren Lillie Kate, Sophie Ann, Garrett, Jayda, Kelly, Jaymee, Jaycee and Sophie.
