Lorene Poteet the daughter of James and Leona (English) Philpott was born March 1, 1939 in Cedar Hollow and departed this life on April 16, 2019 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 15 days.
Lorene was given the nickname Crickett and everyone knew her by that. Crickett enjoyed life and she loved her family. She married Charlie Poteet on September 23, 1955 and their union brought her 3 children into the world. She owned and operated an upholstery shop for many years with her late husband William "Bill" Poteet. She also enjoyed making quilts, and crocheting pillows and doilies. Crickett loved her family dearly and enjoyed family gatherings and just spending time with them. She loved her cats and to her they were family as well. She never forgot a birthday and always sent cards and called on your birthday. Crickett touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband William Bill Poteet, her daughter Charlotte Ann Poteet, her sisters; Pearl Sheppard, Edith Jones, Mamie Kirk, Rosie Philpott and Betty Rotramel; and her brothers Bobby Lee Philpott, John Philpott, Robert Henry Philpott, and James Philpott.

Lorene was so full of life, precious, and a special gem that you should always treasure! I had the pleasure of getting to know her because she banked with us. I looked forwarded to her coming in every time. She always put a smile on my face with our little chats. I will miss her dearly! My thoughts and prayers are with Lorene's family.
