Charles O.D. Hooper was born on June 4, 1932 at Dollar Holler/Smith Holler located in the Rocky Mountain Community to William Fredrick Hooper and Ida Mae (Newman) Hooper. He passed away on March 17, 2019 in Stilwell at the age of 86.

He met the love of his life, Barbara Joyce (Miller) Hooper and they married on June 12, 1951. This union lasted 68 wonderful years and was blessed with four children.

O.D. was a family man. He loved the outdoors and farming which included growing strawberries and winning first place at the Strawberry Festival several times. O.D. loved to garden and see how big he could grow his cabbage and he always shared his abundance with everyone. He also liked to sawmill and make sorghum molasses which he labeled, Grey Squirrel Holler Pure Sorghum.

He was known to run his dozer and clear land so smooth you didn't need to do anything else to it. He could fix anything and was always up for a challenge to repair anything big or small. The family depended on him for all repairs.

The most important decision he made in his life was accepting Jesus Christ as his savior. He served faithfully by serving others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

O.D. was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law Rhonda Hooper and his siblings Delphia Hooper, Denver Hooper, Alpha (Hooper) Hodge, Dick Hooper, Dale Hooper, Ruby (Hooper) Cone, 3 sisters-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory a loving family which includes his children, Robert and Jane Hooper, William and Pam Hooper, Youlanda and Lanny Cain, Trisha and Jerry Bigfeather, all of Grey Squirrel Holler in Dry Creek. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Sam Hooper and Kathea of Eureka, CA, Shannon and Heath Sand of Sperry, OK, Crystal Wilson and Matt of Bunch, OK, Caleb Cain and Elise' of Billings, MT, Jeff Bigfeather and Audra of Park Hill, OK, Kyle Hooper and Emily of Summerville, SC, Weston Cain and Tayler of Banks, ID, Seth Hooper of Bunch, OK and Marissa Bigfeather of Tahlequah, OK, 14 great grandchildren and 2 brothers Jr. Hooper and Lavonne of Neodesha, KS and Delmer Hooper and Beverly of Haysville, KS.
