Charles Doyle Reed   I am a Veteran.
October 1, 1943  -  December 27, 2017

Charles Doyle Reed is the youngest son of George C. Reed and Ruby Katherine Reed. Doyle was born in Lincoln, Arkansas on October 1, 1943 and passed away December 27, 2017 at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 26 days.

Doyle entered military service in 1961 at the age of 17. He served his country in the Navy and was deployed to Vietnam aboard the Navy Destroyer USS Turner Joy. Doyle served in the Navy for three years and was honorably discharged. He worked for the Military Sea Transportation Service for the next 8 years, transporting troops to and from Vietnam.

Doyle met and married Lois Rich in 1973. Doyle and Lois have had 44 years together as husband and wife and have raised two daughters and two sons. Over the years, Doyle worked as a truck driver, heavy equipment operator and tower crane operator. he also worked as a labor foreman for Manhattan Construction. One of his favorite jobs was as superintendent on the Rhema Sanctuary in Tulsa. He was a farmer at heart and loved to raise animals and a big garden.

Doyle gave his heart to the Lord in 1989 and began his walk with Jesus. He loved to tell stories about how God had worked in his life. He has a wonderful testimony. In 2001, Doyle and Lois founded the Ezra House Family Life Center in Haskell, Oklahoma. Doyle continued to work, supporting his family until the age of 68 when an accident forced him to retire. But he never retired from serving the Lord. We rejoice that he is no longer suffering and is in the presence of the Lord with family and friends who have gone on before.

Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, George and Kate Reed and an infant brother. He is survived by his wife Lois, of the home; brother Grover Reed of Kansas, OK; sister Burmah and husband Frank Thompson of Stilwell, OK; two daughters, Tildee Norton and husband Keith of Glenpool, OK, Beth Crisp and husband Vincent of Kansas, OK; two sons, Dan Reed of Kansas, OK, Cory Reed and wife Jannie of Bixby, OK; two sisters-in-law, Ava and husband Preston Brannon of Stilwell, OK, Joelene and husband Dana Lyon of Tontitown, AR; grandchildren, Montana, Mitchell and Emily Norton, Ardis, Elijah, Olivia and Cotton Crisp and Charlie Reed.
